Our Spring promotion is still available: copies of the Civic Society book 'History of Chippenham from Alfred to Brunel' are on sale for a limited period only at £9.99! From the Museum, Whitehall Garden Centre and members of the Committee

In this authoritive history of Chippenham, author Richard Baines charts the history and development of Chippenham from its Saxon origins to the coming of the railway.

Chairman's and Secretary's Reports 2012

At the recent AGM in March, outgoing Chairman, Owen Pennell delivered his report for the past year. His review of the year's activities included an assessment of the Civic Society's discussions with Sainsbury's regarding their plans to signifcantly expand the Bath Road store.

You can read his full report and the Secretary's report here.

During the AGM, Isabel Blackburn was elected to the position of Chairman and takes over from Owen. Isabel thanked Owen for his significant contributions to the smooth running of the Civic Society over the past four years.

Street Pride is the initiative launched by the Prince of Wales in October 2010. Click here to see the Chippenham Civic Society response.

We are members of the Civic Trust - now Civic Voice, Chippenham Vision and Chippenham Chamber of Commerce.

Our President is Dr Robert Blackburn
